We are thrilled to announce that Studio KIND. CIC is going to be moving to Barnstaple in January 2024.

After three years in our unit around the side of Tesco in Braunton, we are excited to be moving to the newly renovated Corn Store, part of Barnstaple’s historic Pannier Market. We would like to thank North Devon Council for all their support in making this possible.

Studio KIND. is an artist-led gallery and project space, bringing together art and community. Working with local schools and community groups, as well as emerging and established artists from across the South West and the UK more broadly, we’ll continue putting on exhibitions of contemporary art that excites imaginations, challenges perceptions and creates connections.

Accompanied by a programme of workshops, get-togethers, and children’s clubs, we hope that our move to Barnstaple will help us up our ambitions and put on even more events that serve Northern Devon. There’s something for everyone; from masterclasses, to workshops for beginners, free art activities for families during the school holidays, and regular events like life-drawing.

We would like to thank our community in Braunton who have made Studio KIND. possible the last three years with their generosity, support, and enthusiasm. We hope that you will be able to join us on this journey.

Studio KIND.’s founding director and local artist, Laura Porter, said:

‘Whilst moving to Barnstaple wasn’t something we had planned for initially, we’re really excited to make the most of this opportunity and establish ourselves in Barnstaple. With the transport links and thriving cultural community in the town more people will be able to access our services and feed into our programme, and ultimately enjoy more art, which we believe should be accessible to all! With the momentum of the Cultural Strategy for North Devon, we hope that we’ll prove ourselves as a real asset to arts and culture in the town.’
