Taking over the gallery in September is Aluna Collective - six female artists from North Devon. Inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement, Aluna Collective come together to celebrate feminine energies, focusing on connection and harmony. Whilst the mediums and subject matter varies, they find commonality in creating work that brings joy, serenity and beauty through their own own personal journeys and experiences.

Emily Hamilton is a successful published children’s book illustrator and author, inspired by the beaches and tropical seas of warmer climes. Emily Harrison studied fashion and print design at Brighton and spent many years in London before being lured back by the sea. Her botanical paintings focus on the vibrancy of flora and foliage through shape, pattern and energetic mark-making. Faye Allison’s practice spans delicate figures and florals drifting to bold, Pop Art inspired portraiture. Victoria Owen focuses on the intricate processes of lino-cut printing, inspired by the natural world. Simplified as a singular, elegant motif, or orchestrated into a narrative, her work is elegant, delicate and timeless. Georgia Morgan’s painting style is full of energy and emotion, inspired by the power of the coast on which she lives and works. Jen Schamotta paints landscapes, portraits and still life in oils, drawn to so many of the little wonders in life that can mean so much.

The six artists will be present throughout the exhibition, sharing stories and their experiences of being artists in North Devon, and they will be running free art activities for families on Saturdays throughout the course of the show.
